Happy happy birthdayHappy birthday - by New kids on the Block
Happy Birthday to you
This is your day On this day for you We're gonna love you in every way This is your day, your day Happy birthday to you, to you Happy birthday to you You're still young Age is just a number Don't you stop having fun This is your day, your day Happy birthday to you , to you This day only comes once every year Because you're so wonderful With each and every thing you do Hey Happy birthday to you This is your day On this day for you We're gonna love you in every way This is your day, your day Happy birthday to you, to you This day is only for you 'Cause you're so special in every way Happy birthday to you Damien Rice - The Blower's Daughter (Click on the picture to listen to the song)
And so it is Just like you said it would be Life goes easy on me Most of the time And so it is The shorter story No love, no glory No hero in her sky I can't take my eyes off of you I can't take my eyes off you I can't take my eyes off of you I can't take my eyes off you I can't take my eyes off you I can't take my eyes... And so it is Just like you said it should be We'll both forget the breeze Most of the time And so it is The colder water The blower's daughter The pupil in denial I can't take my eyes off of you I can't take my eyes off you I can't take my eyes off of you I can't take my eyes off you I can't take my eyes off you I can't take my eyes... Did I say that I loathe you? Did I say that I want to Leave it all behind? I can't take my mind off of you I can't take my mind off you I can't take my mind off of you I can't take my mind off you I can't take my mind off you I can't take my mind... My mind...my mind... 'Til I find somebody new Something That We Do - by Clint BlackI remember well the day we wed. I can see that picture in my head.
I still believe the words we said forever will ring true.
Love is certain.
Love is kind.
Love is yours and love is mine.
But it isn’t something that we find,
It’s something that we do.
It’s holding tight and letting go.
It’s flying high and laying low.
Let your strongest feelings show, and your weakness too.
It’s a little and a lot to ask.
An endless and a welcome task.
Love isn’t something that we have.
It’s something that we do.
We help to make each other all that we can be,
Though we can find our strength and inspiration independently.
The way we work together is what sets our love apart,
So closely that we can’t tell where I end and where you start.
It gives me heart remembering how we started with a simple vow.
There’s so much to look back on now,
Still, it feels brand new.
We’re on a road that has no end
And each day we begin again.
Love’s not just something that we’re in.
It’s something that we do.
We help to make each other all that we can be,
Though we can find our strength and inspiration independently.
The way we work together is what sets our love apart,
So closely that we can’t tell where I end and where you start.
Love is wide, love is long.
Love is deep and love is strong.
Love is why I love this song.
I hope you love it too.
I remember well the day we wed,
I can see that picture in my head.
Love isn’t just those words we said,
It’s something that we do.
There is no request too big or small.
We give ourselves, we give our all.
Love isn’t someplace that we fall,
It’s something that we do. A musical fever ... Just few days ago, a French song calls "Bonjour Vietnam" appeared in France and it has been dispersed widely and quickly in many countries, especially Vietnam. This song is composed by an 44 years old French singer, musician. His name is Marc Lavoine and he is really famous in France and Belgium. And when he was looking for the singer for "Bonjour Vietnam" he met Quynh Anh in Bruxelles. Quynh Anh is a new, young singer with a 100% Vietnamese face and name. She is 19 and her parents are "Viet kieu" living in Belgium and they are proud of their first daughter's godsend voice. She has ever participated in the "Hope" band with her parents and performed folk music for the community. Quynh Anh has an impressionable career start: first prize of the singing competition that was organized at the end of September 2000 by Belgium Television RTBF and signed the contract with Universal for professional performance.
Talking about Quynh Anh, Marc Lavoine said: "This special song, I would like to sing with a singer who has a face describes the hope. And I found Quynh Anh in Bruxelles. I wrote "Bonjour Vietnam" for Quynh Anh".
I've loved this song so much since the first time listening to it. Reading the words of "Bonjour Vietnam", I can feel the nation's pride and I am sure that every Vietnamese does too.
Hereafter, some comments on "Bonjour Vietnam" that I read on the internet:
1. …Hey Vietnamese Folks…do you think that we should proud about our country? After listen this song…I love my country so much! Vietnam is my homeland!
Comment by Manh Cuong
I love BONJOUR VIETNAM like many persons ’cause this song discribes the feelings of those who doesn’t know their roots. I wish them to know Vietnam one day. Catherine (Cat Tuong Lan)

Hello Vietnam
--*--
Tell me about this name so strange and difficult to pronounce That I carry since I was born.
Tell me about the ancient empire and the feature of my “attached eyes” Which say better than me what you don’t dare saying. Of you I only know images of the war, a film of Coppola, [and] helicopters in anger... One day, I will go there to say hello to your soul. One day, I will go there to say hello to you, Vietnam. Tell me about the color of my skin, my hair and my small feet, Which carry me since I was born. Tell me about your house, your street, tell me about this unknown, The floating markets and the wood sampans. Of you I only know images of the war, a film of Coppola, [and] helicopters in anger... One day, I will go there, to say hello to my soul. One day, I will go there, to say hello to you, Vietnam. Temples and stone Buddhas for my fathers Curved women in the rice plantations for my mothers In the prayer, in the light, retrieve my brothers, Touch my heart, my roots, my land... One day, I will go there to say hello to my soul. One day, I will go there to say hello to you, Vietnam. PROUD OF YOU - Fiona FungLove in your eyes Sitting silent by my side Going on Holding hand Walking through the nights Hold me up Hold me tight Lift me up to touch the sky Teaching me to love with heart Helping me open my mind I can fly I'm proud that I can fly To give the best of mine Till the end of the time Believe me I can fly I'm proud that I can fly To give the best of mine The heaven in the sky *** Stars in the sky Wishing once upon a time Give me love Make me smile Till the end of life Hold me up Hold me tight Lift me up to touch the sky Teaching me to love with heart Helping me open my mind I can fly I'm proud that I can fly To give the best of mine Till the end of the time Believe me I can fly I'm proud that I can fly To give the best of mine The heaven in the sky Can you believe that you lie down my way, no matter how that is my birth, I never loose my day. See me fly. I'm proud to fly up high. Show you the best of mine. Till the end of the time Believe me I can fly. I'm singing in the sky. Show you the best of mine. The heaven in the sky. Nothing can stop me to spread my wings, so wide |
